The Action is between us and them -----Fieldwork Stage Two

If we look upon the fieldwork stage one as vertical backtracking, the second stage would be viewed as horizontal exploration.


We invite respondents to share a recent article that has impressed them. In addition, Kuan and I both have two articles about gender awareness. The article's topic revolves around each respondent's life focus throughout fieldwork stage one. For instance, aging anxiety, sexuality education, gender title in language, and so on.

The goal of the procedure is to figure out why they chose the article they did. And after reading gender-related publications, pay attention to their viewpoint statements. Are there any particularly impressive paragraphs? Why?


Select paragraphs, keywords, and discussions together. Focusing on women's social identities, how can they develop their practice of action in addition to being recipients of external effects?


In the previous fieldwork stage one, it was mentioned. When the respondents have no notion of sexual or gender variety, How do we bring this notion to the activities in the following stage?


This stage has so established an online questionnaire with Memoji creation, plastification appearance reclamation, and different sexual characteristics and wearing. They can conceive the possibilities of various genders with greater ease if they give their characters a sense of play.


Returning to physical activity, Kuan felt that their subconscious was resisting it by incorporating their foreign gender consciousness and GSM(gender and sexual minorities)into the practice.( Or they didn't believe they can capable of thinking about it.) However, we must be open and willing to experiment. To create an organic vibe in the discourse, guide with compassion and firmness.


Before participating in the actual character body exercises. We accompany respondents as they organize their daily activities. We discovered that a fresh attempt to replace a virtual character with a body that has been in use for years is both interesting and challenging. The gap between body execution and imagination becomes the first task we undertake to consider the workshop.

--第二階段田調



如果說田調第一階段是縱向式回頭,第二階段便可以說是橫向式探索。


我們邀請對象分享一篇她近期印象深刻的文章,此外,我跟寬也各自準備兩篇性別意識相關的文章,文章主題是根據每位對象在田調第一階段中所表述的生活重心做延伸,比如說老化焦慮、性教育、語言的性別語境等等。

過程重點在於了解對象選擇文章的原因,以及觀察他們在閱讀完性別相關文章之後的立場表述。有沒有印象特別深刻的段落?為什麼?


一起選段落、選關鍵字,討論,聚焦在身為一名女人在社會上的主體性,除了是被外部影響的接收者,要如何產生自己的行動實踐?


在上次訪談的檢視經驗中提到,關於在對象沒有多元性別概念的情況下,要怎麼在下一階段將跳脫二元性別的思考帶入活動 ?

此階段因而發展了一個搭配頭像捏造、虛擬外型以及不同性徵、穿著的線上問卷,使對象透過創造角色的遊戲感,能較自在的想像其他性別的可能。回到身體上,由於要將她們不熟悉的性別意識與多元性別想像帶入練習,寬柔感受到她們下意識是抗拒的(或是她們沒想過可以思考這個),而當下的我們需要保持開放、勇於嘗試的心態,用溫柔與堅定的態度去引發,才可以為對話帶來有機的氛圍。

加入實際的角色身體練習之前,陪伴對象梳理自己的日常慣性動作,由此發現,確實要一個習慣使用多年的身體,去代入虛擬角色的嶄新嘗試,雖然是有趣的但也相對困難,身體執行與想像力之間的距離成了我們思考工作坊的首要之務。
